Saturday, December 11th saw the celebration of over 100 years of basketball when the North Country YMCA held its 20th annual hoop competition at the Littleton High School gymnasium. All the area schools were invited. Students from Lakeway Elementary and Daisy Bronson Middle School were among the children competing. "Around the World" with six different point shots was for the 7 - 10 year old boys and girls and the one minute "Hot Shot" was for the 11 - 14 year old boys and girls.

| After a brief introduction by NCYMCA Director Dianne Rappa, thanks to the day's volunteers - Pierre Lafitte, Dave Stoddard, Jeff Soule, and Kris Kappler, a "Basketball History Quiz", and review of the NCYMCA mission and programs the day’s events began. First, second, third, and fourth place certificates were given in each of the four different age divisions in each gender. |  |
