Field Hockey Camp

	2009 Live for Field Hockey Camps

Objective: To provide progressive instruction of basic field hockey techniques and tactics toward the development of young field hockey players. Our focus will be on the development of the youth's mind, body and spirit of fair play in accordance with the YMCA and US Field Hockey Association philosophies. A solid foundation of individual skills with stick and ball will be developed by each camper. These skills will be reinforced in individual, small group and mini game situations. We also wish participants to make new friends and have fun!

Spring Goalkeeper Training

Sunday, March 8, 2009, 10 am – 3 pm (EDT)
Littleton, NH: Daisy Bronson gymnasium

For all ages.

Two sessions offered:

10 am to noon: Session I – Essentials (base training and refresher)
Instruction in crucial skills: footwork patterns, agilitys, positioning and angles to goal, body & ball control, “Attack” stance, kicker & leg guard skills. (Highly useful in design of GK practice plan; plus Twin-State skillwork included)
noon to 1 pm: lunch break
1 to 3 pm: Session II – Skilled lesson
Circle control and commands, “D” marking & zone coverage, recognition of shooting zones, cues of the shooter,... and more.

ONLY the first 8 applicants will be considered as enrolled. (US mail postmarked by February 28, 2009)

Cost per Goalkeeper is $50.00 per session, or $80.00 for both sessions.

Bring: All GK gear, including sneakers - NO cleats necessary.

Daily Schedule

8:30 am	Arrival / Registration
9:00 am - noon	Morning Session
12:00 noon	Lunch (Bring a bag lunch)
12:45 - 3 pm	Afternoon Session
3:00pm	Pick-Up – Drivers, please be prompt. Thank you
	Call about car pooling.

Daily activities include:

Warm-up / Stretch
Individual Skills / Drills
Team Skills (2 v 2, etc.)
Snack & Water
Mini Games
World Cup Team Play
Cool Down / Wrap Up

Cost: $65 for 2 day camp.

Note: It is recommended that campers bring both sneakers and turf shoes. Camp will be held indoors for inclement weather. All participants are required to wear shin-guards and a mouth-guard during hockey activities.

Limited scholarships are available for tuition.
